About the Artist
Peg Morris is a painter and printmaker, investigating forms, colours, textures and patterns in her surroundings. Inspiration might come from a weather beaten boat on the salt marsh, tracks worn into the landscape or cut into the earth by tides or the action of rivers, the erosion of landscapes or the peeling paint or crumbling stonework on an ancient building. The process of etching lends itself to representing these themes as the plate is itself eroded by the acid, scraped and polished, scratched and sometimes cut into fragments. She is also exploring other printmaking methods including collagraphy, lithography and screen printing.
