About the Artist
Since completing a Fine Art degree at Coventry Faculty of Art in 1983, Theresa has been living in London, and working both as a printmaker and free-lance illustrator. In 1986, she set up a silk-screen printing workshop, with two other artists, and the help of a Prince’s Trust Grant. From 1988, she became involved in designing and constructing costumes for the Nottinghill Carnival, working from Kingsgate workshops. Concentrating full-time on printmaking, these other interests have helped to feed what she does today, using various techniques including Etching, Drypoint, Monoprint, Mezzotint, and Collagraphy.
She has made various collaborations with mixed media artists – the latest project being a curated show “Microtopia” a world in miniature.
She has been teaching printmaking at the Hampstead School Of Art since 2002, and The Institute Art Centre 2007, and curated exhibitions of the students’ work in various galleries in London.
She is a member of South Bank Printmakers, regularly exhibiting with them, and other galleries.
Theresa is based in Kingsgate workshops, Kilburn.
