About the Artist
I work mainly in etching and aquatint . Recent etchings have been bitten with copper sulphate on zinc which is fast and undercuts to reveal foul – bite which I encourage. I draw straight onto the plate from life and from my own photographs.
As a spontaneous contrast I enjoy playing with imagery to produce collaged images of topical subject matter which I make into photo – lithos. Like the tabloid newspapers of the day I use perennial subject matter – politics and patriotism, religion and royalty, sex and gossip, the strange and exotic.
I have just finished producing prints and paintings based on W.W.1 photographs taken by my grandfather working as a vet in Mesopotamia .
