About the Artist
When it came to the visual arts, I was certainly a late developer, although not quite Grandma Moses. Born 1/5/1950, my background is in English Literature (B.A. Hons 2.1 Loughborough University,1978; M.A. Lancaster University 1979). In my forties I started writing articles and giving talks about art and artists, but it was only in 2012, at the age of 62, that I started writing my monograph about the French printmaker, Rodolphe Bresdin, entitled, ‘Rodolphe Bresdin: An Incorrigible Bohemian’ (Published by Unicorn Press 2016). I had to do some etching, to write such a book! Fortunately, although initially way out of my comfort zone, I got the bug and am still a student at the Royal Drawing School and love print making. Like Bresdin, I espouse the art of the imagination.
