Working from sketchbooks, photographs or found imagery, you will be shown how to create your image using a combination of traditional lithographic crayon, tusche and inks.
This course is ideal for those with experience of other printmaking techniques or lithographers who would like to learn how to process and print ball grained aluminium plates.
Gain confidence in using the lithographic process, mixing inks and printing on an intaglio press. The course is ideal if you do not have access to lithographic presses in your own or shared studio. You will have access to several plates to make multiple colour images or a small series of images. It is perfect for trying out different mark-making techniques and seeing what the drawing materials can do.
Weather permitting, you will be encouraged to take your plates outside to draw in the college grounds.
On the first evening, there will be a talk by the tutor, who will show you how lithography fits into her practice as a figurative artist exploring surrealist themes.
