About the Artist
My work explores solitary spaces and by depicting those locations I hope to bring some of that exploration to the viewer of my work.
I work primarily in printmaking using photography and drawing. I record places, buildings, urban signs and found objects with drawing and photography.
I like the surprise and the sometimes uncontrollable variables in the process of printmaking. I am interested in the challenge and the printmaker’s paradox of pushing on to experiment, where process is more important than outcome, whilst going deeper into existing projects and editions.
I also work in traditional etching, making collages, trace monoprints and monotypes in water and oil-based inks and adapting prints also by painting with ink, watercolour and acrylic and by incorporating sections, fragments and complete prints into collages through digital manipulation.
