About the Artist
Bear Print Design is the pseudonym used by wildlife printmaker and illustrator Jo Wright. After graduating from Manchester Polytechnic in 1988, Jo earned a living as a children’s book illustrator before working as a writer and designer of environmental interpretation. She fell into printmaking in 2010 following a road trip to Canada. The wildlife, scenery and in particular, the black bears caught her imagination and inspired her first lino print. Since that time, Jo has completed a three year printmaking course at the acclaimed Hot Bed Press Printmakers Studio in Salford. She is now producing work in relief print, silk screen and etching.
