About the Artist
Emily Marbach is an American-born artist based in London, renowned for her mixed-media collages that blend printmaking, painting and found materials to create textured, narrative-rich works. Her art often features urban figures set against rural landscapes, exploring themes of conversation, silence, freedom, and slavery. She loves using feathers and leaves for relief printing. Linocuts are another favourite.
Marbach’s distinctive style has been showcased in prestigious venues such as the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, The Other Art Fair, Yale Divinity School and Slash Art.
In her recent project, the “Collage Haggadah,” Marbach delves into the themes of the Jewish holiday of Passover, using over seventy handmade collages and prints to reinterpret ancient texts through a contemporary lens.
Her commitment to collage and printmaking has led to a unique artistic style that continues to evolve, reflecting her deep engagement with both personal and universal narratives.
