EXPERIMENTAL PRINTMAKING

Two days 10:00 am – 4:00 pm or 3 evenings 6:00 – 9:00 pm

Introduction

This is a great course for anyone willing to explore printmaking, challenge their colour composition and drawing skills.

The course covers a variety of  printmaking techniques, participants will experiment different printing techniques, reflect and test different methods and embed them in their own artistic practice.

The course covers the following printing techniques:

Poupee and collage : printing “a la poupee” is a method (born in France) of printing in different colours on the same plate. Participants will also explore the possibilities of collage and chine colle’, using different type of paper and inks.

Viscosity technique : Participants will print in colour by using a single plate, layering ink on the surface with a set of rollers.

Monotype: similarly to painting this technique allows only one copy to be obtained. Participants will experiment with mark-making using different brushes, inks and stencils.
