BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art is pleased to announce the 15 artists, 10 exhibitions over 5 weeks, selected for BALTIC 39 | FIGURE THREE.

The 10 exhibitions are to be held in the project space at BALTIC 39 from 20 January – 21 February 2016 and are an opportunity for artists to test works and ideas, or to develop works in progress within a public context.

Daniel Clark | Foley fricatives | Week #3 | February 3 – 7
Daniel Clark will present new works-in-progress which explore the propulsion and phonation of sounding cavities within BALTIC 39. In a continuation from his recent series of phonographic etchings, Clark will work with large ‘found’ objects to examine the often invisible physical phenomena that can result from the movement of pressure between two points — such as gusts of wind, tremors in the ground, and speech sounds.

Clark is an artist and recent graduate of the RCA, who currently works between London and Yell. He was the 2015 recipient of the PMC Shelia Sloss Graduate Award.
