Elizabeth trained at Central St Martins where she graduated with a BA (hons) in Fine Art. She then went to Camberwell College of Arts and graduated with an MA in printmaking.
Time, Memory and Light are the keywords which define her practice. She exhibits regularly with LOOP, which is a loose coming together of alumni from Camberwell.
Her inspiration is in old family photographs that have been hoarded away in suitcases and shoe boxes over the years and have degraded. She works in mixed media (see Black’s Installations & Experimental Printmaking pp27-30). Using lead as a carrier for the image suggests the silvery surface of an old photo; the physicality of carborundum as a medium destroys the exactness of an image and turns it into something other. The viewer will relate to her work with their own experiences, family histories and relationships. A more comprehensive overview of her work may be found on www.lizzieart.co.uk
